Emerson Road, Dapto adds to Sheargold’s list of Award-Winning Projects
Niche Building Solutions has taken out the Master Builders’ Southern Regions Excellence in Building Award in the Medium Density (5 or more dwelling category) for their work on Sheargold’s Emerson Rd, Dapto project.
The 7-unit development posed several challenges not least the extreme slope of the block, along with its civil constraints. These created many logistical problems, which Peter Smith, owner of Niche, was able to overcome without affecting the quality of the overall finish of the project. Each individual unit was designed to utilise the available space, crosswinds and views and incorporate many practical touches along with generous alfresco decks, resulting in a collection of perfectly positioned, light and airy residences that perfectly align with Sheargold’s core value of creating inspiring spaces.
Peter Smith has previously shown his skill and attention to detail in Sheargold’s The Gallery development at Figtree, 12 up-market townhouses which were again, built on a difficult site and received a Master Builder’s award.
Emerson Road was a build-to-rent project and remains part of the Sheargold's investment property portfolio.
Parry’s Cove Receives DA Approval
The Hunter and Central Coast Regional Planning Panel, with Mid Coast Council’s support, has approved the Parry’s Cove development by Sheargold at Tea Gardens.
The initial approval will deliver a high-quality addition to the community of Tea Gardens with:
559 residential lots in 14 stages;
over 114 hectares of conservation area;
a residents’ multi-purpose building known as the ‘Hub’ with adjoining playground and tennis courts;
a Wellness Centre with 25m indoor swimming pool, gym, and studio;
2 new parks and a combined 19 kilometres of footpaths and cycleways; and
new roads and associated drainage and landscaping works.
It is envisaged the entire Parry’s Cove Community will deliver approximately 900 dwellings once approval is obtained for a further 2 stages and plans are submitted to Mid Coast council for a diversity of housing choices across the site.
The project is expected to inject more than $840 million to the economy, generate approximately 1,900 construction jobs alone over 10 years of development and provide a net increase of approximately 560 jobs for local residents.
After receiving State Government approval back in early 2019, the Development Application was lodged with Mid Coast Council in October 2019, and construction anticipated to commence mid-2023.
By integrating parks, playgrounds, multi-age fitness areas and a state-of-the-art Wellness Centre with an indoor swimming pool and gymnasium into the existing natural environment, Parry’s Cove will become the benchmark for active, healthy living on the mid north coast.
The development has received full EnviroDevelopment certification from the Urban Development Institute of Australia demonstrating Sheargold’s commitment to delivering sustainable master planned communities. The project will deliver over 114ha of Biobank lands protected into perpetuity, conserving local biodiversity while utilising existing bushland, abundant waterways and beaches to create a connected and walkable streetscape, ensuring residents and the broader community can enjoy the beautiful natural setting.
The Parry’s Cove project takes its name from the local area’s deep history and distinct landscape. Sir William Edward Parry and his wife Lady Isabella Louisa Parry were outstanding pioneers of the area who contributed greatly to the community.
Managing Director of Sheargold, Michael Sheargold said “There has been a significant investment of both time and resources to achieve this milestone for the Parry’s Cove project. Whilst we are unfortunately not as progressed with Parry’s Cove as we initially anticipated, some 8 years into our carriage of the project we look forward to commencing delivery of a high-quality community to complement the natural beauty of the area”.
Sheargold intend to commence construction on the first stage of Parry’s Cove in mid-2023, once construction approvals have been obtained. The first stage will include residents’ facilities, a sales and information centre, display village and approximately 40 residential lots.
